Why suddenly break out in acne on my back after acupuncture?
I've been going to a chiropractor for a while and Monday did acupuncture on my neck and shoulders to relieve tension. Today I broke out in acne all over my entire back, but seems to be worse around my shoulders. I have never had acne like this in my life, just the occasional pimple on the face. What the hell happened to me? Could this be caused by acupuncture? Also therapy had done on my back the same day and used a water-based gel, but have never broken in the past with this gel and I use that almost every visit. I'm in my twenties years later and acne is rare for me, but this, this is a completely different story, my back is covered in acne, especially on my shoulders. I never my life had acne like this, much less on my back.
A rule in science is that correlation does not necessarily imply causation. It is a logical fallacy known as "post hoc ergo propter hoc." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hoc_ergo_propter_hoc There are several causes of acne (if that is what we have now), I find hard to believe that acupuncture could be a cause. Especially if its over the entire back. It could be that there simply due to a rupture. How years you? Edit: Are you sure of your acne? What was the gel that is used exactly? Perhaps a visit to a doctor may be in order.
