Acne Rosacea Nose
Can Asian teens get rosacea?

I’m 14 and of Asian descent. I went to my doctor and she says that I have rosacea. I have a lot of redness and acne on my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. The redness is almost always there and it gets worse if I drink hot beverages, exercise, have sun and wind exposure and eat spicy foods. These are the symptoms of rosacea, but I found on the Internet that rosacea is a skin disorder found in European/fair-skinned adults over 30 years of age. (My skin is olive.) So could this just be my acne/other skin disorder?
I have no family history of rosacea either.

Anyone can get rosacea. It’s more common in people of Celtic descent- Scottish, Irish, and others in Northern Europe. But it’s true, Asians and pretty much anyone else can get it too. It’s just less common. The symptoms you listed are spot on, so I think you have it, but you could check with a dermatologist to be sure. They can also prescribe you medicine and give you the best tips for treatment. icon smile Acne Rosacea Nose
