Acne is affected by the diet because I read that diet affects acne.?

I am sure that the diet should affect acne, because I realized if you eat fatty foods then my skin will have more oil in it and if you eat foods with lots of onion in it then you can smell the onions in my sweat. This leads me to believe that what you eat can affect the skin despite all medical articles say no.

Acne has many contributors. Genetics, hormonal fluctuations, stress, environment, cosmetics, heat and food are triggers of acne. Food affects acne, but not necessarily directly, our eating habits affect the functions of our body that affects our skin (acne). Excessive iodide in salt, MSG, seaweed, cheese, food processed (especially fast food) can irritate acne. Our bodies try to get rid of excess iodide excreted through the pores. This excretion through the pores on the face (especially if the acne is present) can irritate the skin, causing irritation in acne.
