Does a Fast Acne Treatment Exist?

Trying to find a fast acne treatment out there on the web can be disappointing. There are lots of effective acne treatments that do work for most people when applied consistently as part of a daily regimen. Unfortunately finding one that can get rid of acne overnight is just not going to happen. Clearing up facial acne or body acne takes a few concentrated steps that you do every day. In this article I’ll share some of the more common acne treatments work.

There are quite a few preventative steps that you can do that don’t involve any kind of acne products. They do involve, however, being aware of some of your bad habits and changing some of them. Sometimes the road to clearing up acne starts with the little things you can do to prevent acne breakouts in the first place.

Top 5 Acne Control Tips

Staying Clean

When someone says you need to stay clean to help your acne, most people think that means simply showering every day. Yes, showering is important. But when you’re trying to eliminate stubborn pimples, you have to beyond showering. What do I mean by this? First of all, if you have long hair, try and keep it clean and put it up so it is off of your face and neck. If you have to wear a hairband or put it in a ponytail, then do it. Only wear your hair down when you absolutely have to, like a big date or family reunion. Otherwise, keep it off of your skin. After touching anything dirty or greasy make sure you wash your hands before you accidently touch your face. Transferring dirt and oils to your hands to your face is more than likely the most common way to spread acne. Always wear clean clothes. I know, I know, you’re just going to have a lazy day in and do some laundry, maybe catch up on your emails. Do not, I repeat, do not put on yesterdays t-shirt. Your dirty clothes are full of all kinds of dead skin cells and body oils. Putting them back on will just rub all of this onto your skin and that can lead to pimples and zits. Even if you only have facial acne, simply rubbing your hands on your dirty clothes and then touching your face can make your acne worse.

Being Rough on Your Skin

Skin care is not always about using acne products. Wearing restrictive clothing made of rough materials like denim, although perhaps attractive to the opposite sex, is not so attractive to getting rid of acne. Tight clothes rub against your skin and irritate any bad patches of skin you may have where acne is waiting for just the right circumstances. You are far better off wearing loose clothes that let your pores breathe. You can even get clothes that are designed to draw the moisture away from your skin. After working out and working up a sweat, make sure to shower as soon as you can and dry thoroughly. Perspiring helps keep our bodies from overheating, but unfortunately it also causes our pores to clog up with oils if we let it sit on our skin for too long. Sweat also makes it a lot harder for your skin to shed dead skin cells and natural oils. When washing make sure you pick a nice, soft washcloth. Do not use something abrassive. Even using your hands is preferable to a hard scrubber. Rough facecloths and scrubbers irritate your skin and lead to more acne.

Acne Cleansers are Your Friend

Using regular soap with all its harsh chemicals and perfumes is not the way to go when you’re trying to eliminate acne. Instead use some kind of acne body wash. These products are specially designed to make sure that they don’t clog up your pores like the regular soaps will. Then, after washing, make sure you use some kind of acne cleanser. These cleansers are usually formulated for different skin types, so read the labels when you’re buying. Of course, make sure you know your skin type before you shop. How you apply the cleanser is also important. Just like when you showered, be gentle. Apply the cleanser with a soft cloth or cotton pad. Most acne cleansers are fortified with benzoyl peroxide, so they do a good job of getting into the pores to wipe out the bacteria that causes acne. Make sure you clean every area that may be infected, and don’t forget about your forehead, your neck, and behind your ears.

Eating Right and Exercising

There is no solid proof that eating a good, healthy diet and getting regular exercise actually has an effect on acne control, but most acne sufferers can tell when an outbreak is coming. After days of eating lots of deep fried foods, pizza, chicken wings, etc., most people that have acne say their acne gets worse. Eating lots of greasy, fatty foods and foods high in sugar (especially soda) has a much higher chance of leading to a breakout. Add more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Another benefit of eating more fibrous foods (fruits and veggies) is that you will rarely get constipated. Acne can worsen with constipation because your body tries to get rid of some of the toxins through the skin, since it’s regular method is not working. Water helps also. Try to aim for 5 or 6 glasses of water a day. This will help flush the body of toxins and in general will help keep your skin healthier.

Stress

Stressing out over your acne problems will not help, and more than likely will make things worse. I know, you’ve got a date tomorrow, and you need you acne to disappear overnight. Or maybe you’re going to be in a wedding this Saturday and the last thing you need is your face matching the hideous pink gown you have to wear. Worrying about your pimples will not help. If you are following a strong acne treatment regimen that involves the right acne products for your skin, you are doing all that you can to control your acne. Try not to worry.

Those are the best acne tips that will hopefully help you get rid of your acne problems for good. Looking for that magical pill or miracle cure for a fast acne treatment will just leave you frustrated. If you follow these acne tips, you will be well on your way to at least controlling your acne and quite possibly eliminating it for good.
